Booking Gudeline
1 – Fishing Sessions
Ruen Lake is one of the most well-maintained fishing lakes in the region, and to ensure a great experience for everyone, all sessions are regulated and organized.
- Carp fishing is allowed strictly by reservation. No walk-ins are accepted.
- All fishing sessions start at 12:00 PM and end at 10:00 AM on the final day of your booking.
To fish here, every guest must check in at the reception upon arrival. All participants must hold a valid fishing permit and agree to the lake rules upon entry.
Fishing is only permitted from designated swims. Movement between swims is not allowed unless pre-approved by the management.
2 – Care of Carp
The health and long-term wellbeing of our fish is our top priority. All anglers are expected to demonstrate responsible fish care practices at all times. Mishandling of fish will result in immediate expulsion without refund.
Every angler must use a large padded unhooking mat, floating weigh sling, and a fully functional carp care kit including antiseptic treatments. All fish must be handled gently and returned to the water as quickly and safely as possible.
Photography must be done with care — fish must be kept low to the ground, ideally over a mat, and never held standing up. If the fish shows signs of stress, it should be released immediately and not subjected to extended handling.
We operate on a strict zero-tolerance policy for poor handling. All fish must be released immediately after photography, and no fish should ever be placed on hard surfaces or dry ground. Anglers who disregard these rules may be asked to leave the venue without a refund.
3 – Equipment
To ensure fair play and safety, only specialized carp fishing equipment is allowed on Ruen Lake. Each angler is allowed to use a maximum of three rods, and all rods must be fitted with bite alarms and secure rod pods or bank sticks.
Braided main lines are not permitted, except for use on marker or spod rods. All setups must include safe rigs with lead clips or drop-off systems that ensure the fish can free itself in the event of a line break.
Bait boats are permitted and widely used by anglers. Rowing boats can be rented on-site for baiting and fish handling, but wearing a life jacket is mandatory whenever you’re on the water. The use of echo sounders is permitted, but sonar dropping devices are not allowed.
Anglers must ensure their gear is clean and well-maintained before arriving at the lake. Reels, landing nets, slings, and mats may be inspected by our staff to avoid cross-contamination. If any item is deemed unsuitable, replacements can be provided for hire at reception.
4 – Baits
We allow a wide variety of baits, but strict rules apply to protect water quality and fish health.
You may use boilies, pellets, and particles — however, all particles must be properly soaked and boiled before use.
Tiger nuts are permitted in moderation, but excessive use is prohibited and may lead to temporary bans. Peanuts and maize are allowed only if properly prepared and never fermented or raw.
Live bait, bloodworms, and any animal-based attractants are strictly forbidden. Artificial flavors and dyes should be used conservatively, and we encourage the use of natural, digestible bait wherever possible.
We ask that you keep baiting moderate and targeted to ensure long-term fish health. Overfeeding with cheap or poorly digestible bait can damage our water quality and affect fish behavior. Stick to proven, premium products wherever possible
5 – Fish Care
All anglers are required to carry and use antiseptic treatments on any wounds observed during the unhooking process. Care kits are available at reception for those who do not have their own.
Weighing of fish must be done using dedicated slings and accurate scales. Cradles are recommended, especially for larger fish, to prevent unnecessary stress and injury.
Retention of fish in sacks is not allowed. If a fish must be temporarily held for weighing or photos, use a floating recovery sling placed in deep, shaded water for no more than 10 minutes.
If any fish appears to be in distress or injured, it must be released immediately, and the incident should be reported to lake staff. Our team is always available to assist with proper fish handling or to intervene when necessary.
6 – Safety Measures
Ruen Lake is more than just a fishing destination — it’s a protected natural environment that we ask you to respect during your stay.
Please dispose of all litter in the designated bins located around the site. Black sacks are available at reception upon request.
Do not cut trees, damage vegetation, or disturb any wildlife in or around the lake. We also ask that you avoid using soaps or detergents near the water, even if biodegradable.
Toilets and showers must be used responsibly. No washing or cleaning is allowed in the lake itself. Guests found polluting the lake may be banned from returning.
We are fortunate to host birds, amphibians, and rare plant species along our shores. Keeping the lake clean helps maintain biodiversity and keeps the Ruen Lake experience truly unique and special.
7 – The Environment

8 – Booking & Payments
All bookings must be confirmed in advance via phone or email. Upon confirmation, a deposit may be required to secure your swim. The remaining balance is due upon arrival.
We accept cash or bank transfer, and payment details will be sent to you once your reservation is confirmed. If you need to cancel, please notify us at least 7 days in advance to be eligible for a full or partial refund.
Anglers who fail to show up or cancel too late may lose their deposit and future booking privileges. We operate on a limited swim basis to guarantee a peaceful and uncrowded environment — your commitment helps us manage this quality standard.
